Art and Fear, Chapter 2

Filed under: Uncategorized — bowie croisant @ 4:13 pm

I found David Bayles’ and Ted Orland’s Art and Fear to be quite interesting. In chapter 2 they discussed the importance of not quitting, as well a simple strategy for doing so. This two step strategy is simple: 1) Make friends with others that make art and share your in process work with them as much as possible. 2) Think of 1 as the destination for your work. This strategy attacks one of the common reasons artists quit: a loss of destination for their work after they are out of an academic setting. I enjoyed reading this short experpt of Art and Fear, and look forward to reading more of it.
